    JORDI FRANCÉS-SANJUÁN

He started his musical studies in the “Societat Musical Banyerense” (Alicante, Spain) with Joan Ponsoda Pla as a teacher of percussion. Afterwards he would keep on studying in Alicante and Holland. He has been a member and has performed concerts in young Spanish orchestras such as the “Orquesta de Jóvenes de la Región de Murcia”. Moreover, he has been invited to play as a soloist by the “Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana” (Spain), which is conducted by Manuel Galduf. Regarding to his orchestral experience it should be noted that Jordi has performed concerts with the “Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Oviedo” (Spain), the “Arkas Symphony Orkest (Holland), the “New Orchestra from Köln” (Germany) etc. Moreover, he has participated in operas and great symphonic productions for one and a half years with the Limburg Symphony Orkest (Holland).

It is worth pointing out the many concerts he has performed as a soloist with Valencian bands, as well as bands and orchestras in Holland and Germany. He does marimba recitals, solo or as well accompanied by wind and symphony orchestras in countries such as Spain, France, Poland, Belgium, Germany, Korea and Holland. He has premiered many pieces written for percussion, from them we shoud remark the premier of “Concert per a Marimba i Orchestra” by Spanish composer Ramón García i Soler. In 2003 and 2005, he attended the International Katarzyna Micka Marimba Academy, which was held in Wroclaw (Poland), and had the possibility of working together with the most well-know marimba players

He also started his conducting studies at an early age and took courses with the great masters Frank de Vuyst and Miquel Rodrigo, Hernandez Silva, among others. Through three years, Jordi has carried out his studies in conducting and instrumentation in the Conservatory of Maasticht (Holland) with the renowned Dutch conductor Jan Cober, as well as his studies in Jazz with vibraphone and piano. He has been invited to conduct diverse Dutch and Spanish bands and orchestras. From his young career as a conductor, it is worth pointing out the prize he won at the 1st Conducting Competition organized by the “A.M. La Amistad de Quart de Poblet”, which let him conduct the symphony band of the so called city. In July 2005, he was a finalist and awarded with the “Silver Conducting Baton” in the “15th World Music Contest” held in Kerkrade (Holland) in 2005. In September 2006 was invited by maestro Hernández Silva for 1st Conducting Competition where he has the chance to conduct the “Orquesta de Córdoba”.

At present, Jordi keeps on his career as conertist, he is one of the percussion teachers of NEXEduet permanent Academy, he keeps studyng orchestra conducting in Murcia Conservatory, he is artistic director of “Associació Unió Musical de Bocairent”, and he is one of the members of NEXEduet.
