Welcome to the second edition of the International Music Course Vitoria-Gasteiz. Building on last year’s success, and following the demand of our students, we have decided to extend the course to a total of ten days in 2008, from 12 to 22 of August. We also decided to broaden the course activities to offer a number of new courses including composition and viola studies.

The aim of this course is to inspire all students of music through the daily contact with our renowned teachers, all of whom hold significant positions in the musical world. We work with a number of renowned musicians and teachers from institutions such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Vlaams Radio Television Orchestra, Bath University, Royal College of Music and Birmingham Conservatoire. For the composition module we are delighted to announce the participation of the renowned composer Mark-Anthony Turnage.

Through the international platform that we create and by interaction with teachers and students, we wish to encourage our students to develop musically as well as on a social level. Vitoria-Gasteiz as a city also plays a major role in the course as a welcoming host with friendly locals, a number of historical buildings, a variety of bars and cafés. Once again we welcome you to the International Music Course Vitoria-Gasteiz and hope that this summer’s course will offer you some exciting new experiences and long-lasting friendships.
