David Apellaniz is currently cello professor at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Murcia.  As a soloist his engagements include appearances with the Royal Orchestra Seville Symphony, Lisbon Gulbenkian Orchestra, Extremadura Orchestra and Lyon National Ensemble.

He has recorded for labels such as Naxos, Sony, Col-legno, Neos, Verso and RNE. Gramophone Magazine highlights his recording for Naxos together with the Arriaga Trio as an outstanding revelation.   His passion for chamber music has led him to play together with artists such as the Casals Quartet, N. Chumachenco, G. Caussé, Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet) and Paul McCreesh.
