Accordion - Contemporary Chamber Music

Naiara De La Puente is a highly acclaimed Spanish accordionist.

With a strong academic background in Spain, Denmark, and Finland, she is finalizing an artistic doctorate at the Sibelius Academy-University of the Arts Helsinki with a focus on the role of the accordion in contemporary chamber music.

De La Puente is known for her versatile approach to music, transcending traditional genre restrictions. Her diverse musical interests have led her to participate in a variety of musical projects and ensembles, ranging from classical to contemporary performance. With a primary focus on contemporary accordion music, De La Puente is dedicated to promoting and disseminating classical contemporary music, collaborating closely with both well- known and emerging composers, such as Félix Ibarrondo, Ramón Lazkano, Aurélio Edler Copês, or Irene Galindo Quero. She was a founding member of the contemporary music group Krater Ensemble and, most recently, Stratos Project and Akartia Trio.

Naiara has given solo recitals at prestigious venues and festivals both in Spain and abroad, and recently she was the invited accordionist to the ISCM 2023 world music congress. As the accordionist of Ensemble Sinkro she was invited to work at the Composition Atelier of University of Paris VIII under the guidance of José Manuel López López.

Her artistry has been awarded with several prizes in international competitions; she was nominated for the 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in Music in 2016. Among her discography collaborations, notable ones include a dedicated album to Ramón Lazkano and a joint project with Paquito de Rivera.

She has recorded for the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE), the Spanish Broadcasting Company (RTVE), and the Basque TV and Radio Company (EITB).
